The thirteenth publication of data under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 (Schedule 9) shows total tonnage of mixed material entering the MFs in both England and Wales has increased.
The data relegates to the reporting period October-December (Q4) 2017 and shows the average percentage (by weight) of target material received by responding MFs in Q4 2017 was 85.6% for England and 86.9% for Wales.
The figure for England has increased slightly by 0.1% on the last quarter, and there has been a 0.9% decrease for Wales.
The lowest average percentage (by weight) of a specified target material in the output material streams is for plastic in England (90.5%), and glass for Wales (85.7%).
The total tonnage of mixed material entering the MFs in England in Q4 2017 was 823,499 tonnes which is around 12,414 tonnes or 1.5% more than the previous quarter.
The total tonnage of mixed material entering the MFs in Wales in Q4 2017 was 74,779 tonnes, which is around 41 tonnes more than the last quarter.
