City of Lincoln Council awards new £50 million waste/recycling and street cleansing contract to Biffa.
The contract is set to commence on 1 September 2026, following the conclusion of the current agreement on 31 August 2026.
The contract is valued at approximately £5.5 million per year and runs for an initial term of 8.5 years.

“City of Lincoln Council is proud to have secured a contract that balances quality, cost, and environmental responsibility for the benefit of Lincoln residents and visitors alike.”
The waste/recycling service includes the collection of residual waste, dry recycling, garden waste, and clinical waste.
The street cleansing service includes street sweeping, litter collection, fly-tipping removal, clearing abandoned vehicles, and graffiti cleaning.
City of Lincoln Council said the new contract will also include the use of electric vans and solar panels at the depot.
