WasteAid, the charity dedicated to sharing waste management skills around the world, announced that Chief Executive Officer Mike Webster is departing his role at the end of March.
The charity anticipates announcing a new CEO in the coming weeks.
To ensure a smooth transition for the charity and its employees, partners and stakeholders, WasteAid has established an interim executive role for Board member Ray Georgeson, who is temporarily leading the charity and reporting to the Board of Trustees until the new CEO is in their role.
Zoë Lenkiewicz continues to lead WasteAid’s programmes and engagement, and Sarahjane Widdowson continues as Chair of the Board.
“I’m proud of everything our team has achieved and the benefits we have delivered with our partners and stakeholders over the last five years,” Mike Webster said.
“Global recognition of the burgeoning waste management crisis has led to increased international efforts to reduce the impacts of unmanaged waste. I wish nothing but the best for the charity, its employees and its partners, and I’ll always be grateful for my time leading the organisation.”
Mike Webster’s departure resulted from his appointment to a new international role elsewhere, news of which will be announced in due course, WasteAid says.
