Company Biography

Plan B was founded in 2006 as a Consultancy business, mainly providing bidding support for municipal contracts to large waste management contractors. Plan B was established as an environmental services specialist, offering advice and support with regards to waste collection and recycling, street cleansing, grounds maintenance and the operation of HWRC’s, with additional consultancy services provided to local authorities and private contractors including procurement support, service reviews and waste analysis.

In 2019 the business expanded its activities to include Recyclable Material Trading (2019) and Managed Services (2020), alongside rapid growth within the Consultancy business.

In 2020 the company achieved accreditation to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, as well as Investors in People (Silver), and is a Member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management Affiliated Organisation and a Member of the Environmental Services Association.

In 2023 Plan B was awarded a Green Apple Environmental Award, were shortlisted for a National Recycling Award for Partnership Excellence with Essex County Council and were the winner of the Best Large Business at the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards.

Consultancy

Our vastly experienced and talented Consultancy team offer support across a range of services including:

Material Trading

We support our clients in marketing and sale of their waste and recyclable materials, harnessing our team of experts to deliver a comprehensive service that provides best value for money and ensure compliance. Our material sales solution is built upon our experience from many years of successful trading. Our service provides our clients with:

Managed Services

We provide full operational and back-office management of services on behalf of our clients, with our team embedded in the client structure, offering bespoke solutions designed specifically to meet clients needs. This can range from short-term support to longer-term solutions; our team designs bespoke solutions to meet our customers exacting needs. this could include interim staff placements, management of specific service activities which otherwise do not receive the level of focus they deserve, to a fully managed service delivered by our highly experienced team.

In September 2023 Plan B was awarded its first service contract by Bridgend County Borough Council. The contract covers recycling, waste collection, the bulking and marketing o recyclable materials and the operation of three Community Recycling Centres.
