Blueprint to circular economy: the workstreams behind the project

Blueprint

The Blueprint Project supports local authorities’ transition to a circular economy, as Leah Martin, the programme’s communications lead explains.

Since launching in 2020, the Blueprint to a Circular Economy Project has had huge success in starting to deliver a sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive future for local authorities in England and France, the programme’s communications expert Leah Martin says.

The project runs until March 2023 and has a budget of $5.6m, of which $3.8m has been awarded by the European Regional Development Fund via the Interreg France (Channel) England programme.

Essex County Council is joined by nine project partners based across northern France and southern and eastern England.

Together, the partners are collaborating on three key workstreams:

  1. Enable local authorities to accelerate towards a circular economy.
  2. Equip social enterprises with skills to deliver circular economy training.
  3. Enhance community engagement among residents and schools.
