Initial Plans Revealed for RWM 2022

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) and ROAR B2B are excited to reveal initial plans for the UK’s leading and largest event for the recycling, resource and waste management sectors. 

RWM, run in partnership with CIWM, will run on 14-15 September 2022, welcoming 12,000+ visitors from across the UK and Europe.

This year will see the event take a new form, utilising new halls at the NEC and more than 10,000 m2 of outdoor exhibition space. Visitors will enjoy new and unique opportunities to see material being processed live on site, witness live vehicle demonstrations, as well as a completely revamped programme of conferences running alongside the main exhibition.

Over the course of the two days, visitors will have the opportunity to engage with 200+ expert speakers across 100 CPD sessions, participate in a range of exclusive free to attend networking events, and enjoy the buzz and festival atmosphere of the on-site pub, street food market and live music.

Live demonstrations of equipment and vehicles

With innovation at the heart of the RWM exhibition, the revamped layout provides space for ground-breaking suppliers to showcase their solutions in a live working environment. This year, the event welcomes the likes of Blue Group, Doyle Machinery and Air Spectrum who will be processing material and running their kit in the Live Demonstration Area.

Visitors will also be able to see the newest electric and low emission vehicles on the market helping to reach net-zero targets in the Trucks in Action and Street Cleaning Demonstration Area. Participants in 2022 include HIAB, Scarab Sweepers and Aebi Schmidt. Sweepers will be seen in addition to skip and hook loaders, tippers and other refuse collection vehicles which serve as the workhorses of the waste and recycling sector.

Revamped speaker programme

Focussing on future themes, the nine conference theatres will provide more than 100 hours of CPD accredited content for local authorities, waste management businesses, independent operators, reprocessors, waste producers, manufacturers and suppliers.

Addressing key topics such as delivery of the Resources and Waste Strategy, the transition to net-zero and the future generation, hear from leaders driving change in the waste and resource industry. Sessions will also cover practical topics for local authorities alongside key skill masterclasses in areas such as digital marketing, business growth and leadership.

Attention will also be given to each material stream within the circular economy with dedicated sessions for businesses working with; metals, plastic, paper, wood, textiles, WEEE, glass, tyres, organics and food.

Social & Networking Events

But RWM is more than just an exhibition. Join what is the festival of the waste and recycling Industry and take part in a host of exclusive, free to attend networking events.

Events include; the Women and Diversity in Resource Management Breakfast Meeting, Rising Star Networking Meeting, Innovation Awards, Health & Safety Workshops and more.

This year also sees the return of the Local Authority Lounge, allowing visitors to network with   colleagues and discuss challenges and innovative schemes being implemented in their local areas and beyond.

The shows are also about recognising success and the Innovation Awards reward achievements and developments in the UK’s expanding waste, recycling and sustainability industry and feature a wide range of categories for local authorities, waste management businesses, reprocessors and suppliers.

The exhibition will also play host to this year’s 35 under 35 awards scheme, sponsored by Grundon Waste Management.

Of course, the exhibition wouldn’t be complete without the infamous Inn on the Green pub and the WasteCare networking which features incredible pieces of 100% recycled waste art.
