Fiveways | Fiveways’ new-and-improved Mobile Outdoor Digital Screens (MODS) Hit London Streets with iPhone 16 Giveaway

Fiveways

Fiveways Municipal Vehicle Hire Ltd is “painting the town red” on September 7 to celebrate the launch of its new-and-improved Mobile Outdoor Digital Screens (MODS).

Now made from 100% recyclable aluminium, these dynamic LED digital advertising screens are mounted onto the side of refuse vehicles to offer the UK’s local authorities and private sector companies an effective and sustainable way in which to communicate key messages.

To mark the much-anticipated arrival of these updated MODS, the Essex-based commercial vehicle hire specialist will be driving a MODS-adorned refuse truck past some of London’s most famous landmarks on Saturday, September 7 (2024).

The truck will drive past sights including Big Ben and Tower Bridge before parking outside Greenwich Park from 2pm until 4pm. During this time, passers-by will be encouraged to take part in Fiveways’ competition for their chance to win one of two Apple iPhone 16s (due to be released this September).

The mini tour will also be celebrating the fact that Fiveways’ MODS have been shortlisted for Logistics UK’s flagship Logistics Awards 2024 for the Most Innovative Product of the Year Award.

Emma Cheesman, Fiveways’ Head of Development, said: “Fiveways are very excited to be launching our new-and-improved Mobile Outdoor Digital Screens and are thrilled to be shortlisted for this prestigious award.

To celebrate, we’re running a competition whereby people visiting our truck in Greenwich on September 7 can scan the QR code displayed on the side of the vehicle and then answer a few questions. Two entrants will then be picked out of a hat to become the lucky owners of the latest iPhone.”

Get Your Message Moving

From brightening up the streets with some festive cheer by advertising the local Christmas panto to publicising changes to local waste collections, Fiveways’ user-friendly MODS can be used to convey – in real time – whatever message you choose.

The original screens are used by numerous private sector companies and local authorities across the UK – who utilise the MODS’ easy-to-use software to quickly upload images and videos.

Comprised of a 75-panel cabinet, the MODS can either be purchased as a capital cost or rented – and have the potential to create an extra revenue stream through the selling of advertising space on the screens.

They also help support customers in their journey towards achieving net zero by reducing their expenditure on – and waste created by – disposable advertising such as flyers, posters, stickers, and removable graphics boards.

Fiveways’ MODS can be sent off for recycling at the end of their eight-year life expectancy through an authorised Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) centre – where the aluminium cabinet can begin the next chapter in its recycling journey.

B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.

Danielle Heward, Optimo’s Founder, was always determined to establish a new kind of business improvement firm. Disheartened by the damage done by mainstream business, she set about creating a company that would promote positive change by elevating those organisations making a genuine difference in the world.

Now, Optimo only works with clients that have a clear climate and social focus, helping them with operations, project and change management services.

It wasn’t long after starting her company, that Danielle discovered the B Corp movement, and knew it was something she wanted to pursue.

The decision to become a B Corp aligned seamlessly with Optimo’s core values and overarching mission and Danielle recognised that working with purpose-driven organisations.

Optimo also needed to demonstrate their own commitment to ethical practises.orn in Yorkshire, the same week as Yorkshire Day in 2023. Optimo has also stood proudly as a trailblazer in the region by being the first LGBTQ+ and female-founded consultancy in all of Yorkshire to achieve the certification.

Not only that, at the time Optimo were only one of only 20 female-founded and led consultancies in the whole of the UK with the B-Corp status.

The B Corp movement is fast-growing around the world and there are now over 2,000 B Corps in the UK, with a B Corp festival taking place in Oxford on 10-11 September.

With the waste and resources industry playing a huge role in making the world a better place, it’s not surprising that the certification is becoming popular in this sector too. It provides a great framework for improving ways of working and indicates to stakeholders that you run your business responsibly.

Since becoming B Corp, Optimo has seen an increase in new client work, improved talent attraction, and is even supporting other organisations to become B Corp by sharing their tips to operationalise the responsible business practices required to achieve certification.
