The Sustainable Markets Initiative announces the launch of its Circularity Task Force, which will be coordinated by Gemini Corporation and its CEO, Kunaal Patawari will be Task Force Chair.

The Circularity Task Force aims to provide guidance to private and public sector organisations on how they can incorporate circularity into their corporate vision and business and operational activities.

The Sustainable Markets Initiative says the Task Force aims to share best practices, strategies and supportive guides for the private sector. The Task Force also aims to support the acceleration of the circular economy transition across the value chain.

Task Force member companies include First Abu Dhabi Bank, Dubai Airports, Gemini Corporation, Holcim, Investcorp, and LGT Group.

The Circularity Task Force will focus on the mission-critical objective of unlocking and embedding circularity.

Kunaal Patawari commented: “With the Terra Carta as our guiding light, the Circularity Task Force will focus on the mission-critical objective of unlocking and embedding circularity into the pursuit of value creation.

“As part of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, we aim to influence capital allocation beyond numbers towards forming a legacy of responsible and impactful collaborations that deliver uncompromised returns.”

The Sustainable Markets Initiative is aligned with the Terra Carta articles, which set actions to help the private sector accelerate its progress towards sustainability. King Charles, then Prince of Wales, launched the Terra Carta in 2021. The article derives its name from the historic Magna Carta and aims to give “fundamental rights and value” to nature.
