Viridor is set to continue its recycling partnership with Kent County Council following agreement on a 24-month contract extension through to July 2020.
The processing and selling kerbside recycling contract, which has been held since 2016, will see Viridor receive around quarter-of-a-million tonnes worth of recycling from seven districts across West and Mid Kent.

“By continuing to work together, we can increase the amount of material that Kent recycles, using our state-of-the-art Materials Recycling Facility in Crayford (pictured), South East London, driving a more circular economy by maximising the recycling opportunities which Kent residents create when they put the Right Stuff in the Right Bin.”

Nichola Hood, Waste Business Partnership Manager at Kent County Council, said: “Kent County Council Waste Management is pleased to announce that by mutual consent the contract between Kent County Council and Viridor Waste Management Ltd for the West and Mid Kent Dry Recyclables Processing Contracts has been extended for a further two years to 3 July. 2020.”
Material such as paper, card, plastic bottles, cans and glass will be sorted using optical sortation, mechanical process and manual quality control at the nearby Crayford Materials Recycling Facility.
