WRAP Publishes Plastic Packaging Factsheet

WRAP has published a factsheet on plastic packaging, which is aimed to support “informed choices” around plastic packaging.

The document is aimed at anyone interested in understanding the complexities around different types of plastic packaging, according to WRAP.

It’s been designed to support informed choices around plastic packaging; clarifying the differences between the materials used to make plastic packaging, the way plastics can behave, how they can be recycled (or not) and, the terminology used to describe plastics.

The guide look at material types, the way the material behaves, whether it’s recyclable, the environmental impact and treatment and disposal routes (see below).

It also features a glossary of terms with regards to the different types of plastic.
