Research into sustainable and alternative waste collection vehicle usage

Read the full report here

ISWA’s Collection and Transport Technologies working group commissioned research, supported by CIWM, on what municipalities around the world were doing in relation to alternative fuels for waste management refuse collection vehicles.

Not only how far they had gone down this route, but which fuel was the most dominate and what were the main barriers to changing the fleet over.  Also, what issues were waste management companies and vehicle manufacturers facing.

This report gives a snapshot of municipality experiences on adoption and reasons for those that had not made this step, at the time.
